So I haven’t written anything in a bit, you know why? I’ve been so keen on making this an interesting blog..something that people will actually want to read, something that will inspire them. So I didn’t think that I had anything big to write about. I didn’t have any witty comments, or brilliant insights..or entertaining stories. Word of the Week? Screw it. Who needs to be so structured..thats such a trivial and elementary type thing. It’s the small things in life that matter. The fact that our school has probably gone through 100 Timmie’s cups in the last week alone. The old man that sits alone in the Starbucks, before meeting up with friends in the food court. The pizza guy who gives you 23 cents off because you have to go digging through your wallet for that extra nickel. The old shops that you think have to close, but still turn their closed sign over every day. The fact that the world wakes up every morning, and finds some way to get through the day. The guy playing the guitar at the subway station. It’s these things, though small and insignificant, that make life what it is. That matter.

Live.

Love Actually

So, this is the introduction from the movie “Love Actually”, which I think is a brilliant movie. I’ve been feeling really down about the state of the world, feeling like theres no hope left. What with all the issues surrounding us, global warming, poverty, disease, starvation, etc., it feels like our world is going downhill fast. But this movie gives a bit of hope, that there still is love in the air, that we don’t need to despair. In church last Sunday, we heard a sermon about how the cross affects us today, and how because of the cross, we don’t need to despair in the state of the world. I think I’m going to write about one word every week, and how that word has affected me. So, obviously, this weeks word is hope. Stay strong, don’t give up, love unconditionally.

God is. Love is. Hope is.
